Due to circumstances beyond my control I have not been able to fly out to Seville, Spain for the party tonight Saturday 16th June. Without going into detail there was a small mistake in my name on the flight booking and the airline failed to find my name on the passenger list which I find hard to believe as it was still obvious that my name was there. Sorry to everybody going to the party tonight and hopefully we will be out again soon. Dave Wallace (Aquasky) |

| Friday ! 9th June update | ||

Good afternoon everyone, I expect you, like us, are stuck in the office and unable to enjoy the sunshine. Well, we have a token remedy for you… we have just uploaded today in the Mixes section of the site a brand new, exclusive 1 hour mix by new Passenger signee Rob Le Pitch. Embracing a more electro house kinda mix with a small amount of breaks, we feel this will bring that much needed sunshine into your office. In the video section we have just uploaded an advert that was commissioned by Dunlop advertising their Dunlop Green Flash trainers. Not sure if this will ever get onto the TV, but here is an exclusive showing of it. It features the DJ Pfel mix of Aquasky and Meat Katies ‘Overneath’ (original available in our online store) We are still offering you the buy 3 get 1 free offer in the shop. This has the broadest range of Aquasky/Passenger/777 product anywhere in the world. Next week we will also be offering a few Passenger T-shirts which we were lucky enough to get a small re-run done. Last night Radio 1’s Annie Nightingale aired an exclusive half hour mix by 777 magic man, Jim Shimmer. Packed full of exclusives showcasing his electro house inspired breaks, this is available on Annie’s homepage: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/annienightingale/index.shtml We will also pop it onto our site next week once it is removed from Annie’s site. Jim Shimmer’s new 12” ‘Space Races/The Escape’ will be out in a few weeks which reached No. 6 in the DJ Beats and Breaks charts. If you want to hear some exclusive new Aquasky tracks check our Myspace page: www.myspace.com/aquaskyuk This also has lots of mindless rants and useless facts about us and our friends… It’s a bit addictive, so only visit myspace if you have a strong tolerance level!!! It’s the weekend tomorrow, so I hope this keeps you amused till then. Much love… Brent Newitt, Aquasky |

Short little news section this month… if you have been keeping up to date with our Myspace page you will know I have been waffling a fair bit over the last couple of weeks!!! Australia, what can I say… some of the best gigs and crowds we have played for. We were truly honoured and moved by the love and support shown to us whilst down there touring and by the promoters who took time out to show us around and take care of us. Liam, Dan0, Blake and Paul and of course the Fuzzy trio… Jess, Ming and John. Big respects. Kieron has just departed those shores and is now docked up in Thailand where he will be jumping on the decks this week to give some love. Also, being a Vegan, I am sure there will be plently for him to eat from the Thai cuisine. Any other vegans out there reading this will know how hard it is to be catered for (man, those tours of Germany back in the mid 90’s Kieron nearly starved, that’s why he is so thin!!!) What’s Dave been up to this month I hear you all ask??? Well, the helicopter lessons are still in full flow, well they were until this weekend’s accident!!! Whilst working on a remix in the studio we found that the roof had a little leak. Dave, being the all round man who can handyman, climbed out of the third story window and onto the roof to shuffle the tiles about. Me, being the clown that I am, thought it would be funny to shut the window. Yes, I know, you can paint the picture. After some screaming and some name calling he tried to shimmy down the drainpipe, why I don’t know! Next thing he slipped and landed in the neighbours hedge. What’s more, I have been lumbered with the bill for repairing the hedge, bloody £300!!! Dave was discharged from hospital last night and has today uploaded a fresh 1 hour EXCLUSIVE mix by the legends that are Backdraft. This is to celebrate the release on our Passenger label of the long awaited final 12” from the Teamplayers series. Our collaboration with them and Backdraft titled ‘What Can You Do?’ Finished copies are available from our shop section of this site. Details are: Single 1: A: Aquasky and Spyda ‘Time Up’ AA: Aquasky and Backdraft feat. Spyda ‘What Can You Do?’ Single 2: A: Aquasky and Spyda ‘Time Up (Drumsound and Bassline Smith Mix)’ AA: Aquasky and The Drumattic Twins ‘Bring It On Down (Rennie Pilgrims HUM Mix)’ Also available from the shop are a few more promo copies of the eagerly sort after Rob Le Pitch track with remixes from Tom Real and Rogue Element and the limited edition 10” vinyl of the Instro-Mentals of Aquasky and Elhornet ‘Girls and Boys’ and Aquasky and The Breakfastaz ‘Good Sound’… We are also continuing the BUY 3 GET ONE FREE deal. This month we are offering you a 777 release as the freebie, throughout the month of June Check the Annie Nightingale Radio 1 show on June 9th. The golden boy of 777, Jim Shimmer, has been invited in to do a half hour mix. I have been told there are 10 tracks and some fresh exclusive future 777 beats on there. We will upload this onto our site next week just in case you miss it. But, I am sure all of you check Annies show… She is a legend. Well, back into the studio for me with a bowl of grapes and a big apology for Dave. Come and link with us on Myspace if you are bored… Major bigness… Brent June 2nd 2006 |

Here we go… May nearly upon us and I am getting my set ready for the Australian leg of the Teamplayers tour. Myself and Kieron are heading down there for a 3 week tour of duty. Talkin of tours of duty, many thanks to all of you who came out for the Japan dates of the Teamplayers sessions. We had Tayo in the house for Tokyo and Osaka and then me and the The K-rok continued down to Nagouya and Fukoaka. Every date was brilliant and I am so looking forward to returning out there again in 2007 when we go out pushing the next Aquasky LP… Many thanks to Matamura-San at Village Again for putting out the album in Japan (check the shop for limited copies, this release has the exclusive 2006 mix of the Kool Keith and Crash Berlin collab ‘Movin The Hype Track’). And shouts and love are extended over to Toshiyoshi, Shun and Toki of the Remixer Remix family for putting it all together. Thanks also for saving my bacon when I got friendly word in the ear by the Yakuza (no lie, it was quite an unsettling moment)… I promise I will be on my best behaviour next time… but I think that’s why they like me over there… I provide them with fun and special moments!!! Yes, that’s right, March 2007 will see the release of what I think is the 8th or 9th Aquasky LP. Presently titled ‘The World Is Not Yours’ we are sorting out a handful of guests for this one and a recording schedule which will start in August and finish in October. We are bubbling with ideas and keen to get to work but due to the massive work and tour schedule we have, it’s hard to get stuck in for a least 3 months… Whats new over here… well we have done 3 remixes in the last month. Atomic Hooligan, The Breakfastaz and the mighty Backdraft. All due to hit the shelves before the summer. We are dead chuffed with all of them as they all have their own sorta vibe. I think we had to get some stress out the system due to all the Teamplayers work over the last 2 years. We have also been putting them off for the last 12 months so thanks guys for your patience… Next up on 777 Records: Sprayhead A: ‘Rock and Roll’ AA: ‘Rock and Roll (ED209 mix) As the name suggests this has a little rock vibe to it and the incredible Edward Scissorhands 209 is getting dirty on the mix over the next week… This guy knows how to do the rinse out in style and we are well looking forward to what he hands over to us… The new Passenger release by Rob Le Pitch (Tom Real and Rogue Elephant remix) has landed in the DMC cool cuts chart which we are well chuffed with… I think this one is going to do the damage… Also, Mampi Swift is getting rowdy on his remix of Backdraft’s ‘Labrat’ and Total Science, those dangercats, are now tackling The Pressure by The Breakfastaz… Ouch!!! Whats new on the site… well in the shop master Wallace has uploaded limited TP’s of the Rob Le Pitch track, exclusive Teamplayers Japan CD’s, a remix we did for Factor E for Low Phat Records out in the states (think Whats Down Low but without the vocals!) and some copies of the Shadow Breaks 12” we did for Shadow Cryptic back in 2002. There is also loadsa back catalogue from Passenger, so if you missed anything back in 2001-2003 this might be the last chance for you to get clean, unplayed copies. We are also extending the ‘Buy 3 get on Free’ offer throughout the month of May… Dave Wallace is too kind to you, you should all give him bearhugs when he comes to your town to DJ as a way of a thankyou… Talking about Dave Wallace, next week he is attempting to swim the English Channel for charity. Not the strongest swimmer in the world, he decided this might assist in his army like training program. Think Ross Kemp in the Ricky Jervais Extra’s program. Something to do with Special Army Soldiers… hats off, we just hope he survives… maybe next month we may have to do a competition to find a new member of Aquasky??? In the download sections we have a new radioshow by young David at the helm of his weekly Fire FM show. Keep checking this show for exclusive new Aquasky remixes and signings to the label. Always into your feedback… There is also a new Def Inc 1 hour mix for you to grab. These chaps dropped an awesome release last month on our 777 label and are presently doing the promotional circuit for a fresh 12” they are putting thru Botchit and Scarper, the old home of Aquasky. Good luck chaps, keep up the great work… In the video section there is a download of the Aquasky Liveshow. Just one track shot by my Dad at the sneak preview show we did in Bournemouth in February. It has the Ragga Twins doing the vocals and the full band doing our thing 100% live. Man, I miss the band… feels like there is a big empty space in my life without those guys around… I do hope we get to do something with them again soon… Big ups Ban Jyang, we love you… So that’s it for now, I have to go and sort out my receipts for our accountant… gone are the days of messing about in the studio having a laugh all day… looks like Aquasky are turning into businessmen… the sort that don’t make money and prefer keeping underground than overground!!! Bad businessmen basically!!! Hehehe, it’s the way we like it Much love to all our friends around the world… Brent Newitt, April 27th 2006 (sat in the Aquasky office) |

Eznow… I am sat in the Aquasky studio whilst Keiron tweeks the remix we did for Atomic Hooligan of their track ‘Wait Til You’re Sleeping’ and Dave is in the office busily uploading a whole heap of new stock to our shop and coming out with another one of his promotional ideas… for the month of April we are GIVING AWAY A FREE RECORD when you purchase three items from the shop . We have been lucky enough to unearth a few gems from way back on the Passenger label and also restocked on some of the newer classics. This could be the last chance for some of you to purchase some of this early material from the label. Also, Teamplayers is back in stock on our store after the first few boxes flew out the door… so plenty of reasons to buy 3 items to gain ya freebie!!! How about this then… I have been chatting to Botchit And Scarper and Moving Shadow and they are going to hook us up with some old vinyl stock from our ‘Beat The System’ and ‘Stayfresh’ albums and also some CD’s. We are well happy as this will give you guys the chance to hear how we got to where we are now. A 5 year Aquasky breakbeat history. We have also obtained the download rights from Botchit And Scarper of all the Aquasky breakbeat 2000-2003 which should be going up over the next 7 days… Bigup Mo Love at Botchit for being so helpful This week we have uploaded a new radio show from our man on the inside Sir David Wallace who recently received a knighthood from the Queen for services to radio. Top lad!!! In addition to that we have found an old Radio 1 show we did for One World (Annie Mac and Paul Thomas) from 2003 when we were touring the ‘Stayfresh’ album. Also going up in the video section is an awesome set by 3x DMC World Team Champions from France, C2C’s DJ Pfel who takes two copies of ‘Overneath’, our collab with Meat Katie, and goes to work on it… seriously, these guys are amazing and this routine is off the chisel. Look out for their wicked promo DVD doing the rounds at the moment which also contains the ‘Overneath’ routine and a host of other hotness… Last up we have finally located the Infekto ‘Miami treble’ video which came out on Passenger in 2004 and this can be found in the video section as well… this tune smashed it when it came out and now Infekto is busy working as Riko Tubbs for Menu Music and Money Shot. OK, that’s it for this week. Just time to send over ‘The Pressure’ remix we did for The Breakfastaz to see what they think of it and for us to get our teeth into the Backdraft ‘Labrat’ and flip that over remix stylee… Keep it tight, keep it in the box… not out of the box, in the box… Brent Newitt March 30th 2006 |

So here we are… 2 weeks after the release of our album and things are finally slowing down a little at Aquasky Mission Control. Over the last week we have been remixing The Breakfastaz ‘The Pressure’ whilst in Derby Drumsound and Bassline Smith are also getting their d&b teeth into the track for the flipside. Should be heavy… future releases listed out below. Thanks to all of you who have come to our shows over the last two weeks in Moscow, St. Petersberg, Budapest, Bristol, London and Hereford. This weekend we are out in Kazakhstan again and also making a little appearance at the nuskoolbreaks.co.uk party in London somewhere. No love to British Airways for losing all my records on the way to my Moscow gig… not cool! If you wanna check Aquasky on Drum And Bass Arena TV then click: www.breakbeat.co.uk There is a little 8 min interview with us about our history and where we are going with the labels and also a guest appearance by gatecrasher MC Spyda… Bigup Spyda. Also, on this site is a video from the gig I did in Budapest at the weekend. Rocking 800 Hungarian Breakbeat fans on a boat on the River Danube. I love playing in Eastern Europe as the people there love to party and are always friendly… takes me back to my old days of raving 15 years ago!!! Go to the Vids/Dubs section to check it out… As you may have heard, after working our asses off for what is nearly 2 years putting together Teamplayers, we are now taking the rest of the year off from releasing Aquasky material. After 11 years of non-stop releases (we have certainly released the most breakbeat records in the world and could well be onto a record for the amount of dance tracks written by one group!) we feel it is time for the marketplace to do without Aquasky. Well, too be honest it’s not that at all… we just have so many other projects and 2 labels that are selling records like hotcakes that we need to manage our time and use it to push through our artists and other productions we will be doing for guest vocalists on our labels. We are also going to start Breakbeat Bass Vol: 2 which we intend to branch out across the world with exclusive mixes created for different countries. Watchout for the start of 2007… Aquasky will be back to shake it all up again with another album!!! This one will not take 2 years to make, probably 2 months!!! We are making a real effort now to upload a new radioshow and mix each week so keep checking the mixes section of the site for the freshness. Also we have some guest mixes coming up from Jim Shimmer, Backdraft, Def Inc and Mechanoise. Here is a brief rundown of what’s coming up on the labels for the next 3 months: TEAMPLAYERS EP – available in the shop NOW!!! It’s getting hotter and soon we will be back on the beaches relaxing and enjoying our time off. But if you want to drag us away to play in a club near you then drop us an email at: bookings@aquasky.co.uk We are keen to push the future sound of breakbeat around this small planet of ours and meet some of the heads in during our travels… Have fun in the sun… Brent Newitt March 23rd 2006 |

| 3rd March update - Teamplayers here ! | ||
|
OI OI!!! And welcome to our site and the March 2006 update. D-Day is here… Teamplayers comes out on Monday March 6th. The end result of 18 months hard work collaborating with the finest breakbeat stars on the planet. If you can not wait til Monday with have a limited amount for sale in our shop section of this site. Also, any purchase made online at our shop this month will get a free mix CD or Mini Mix. We have also put up copies of the Aquasky ‘Teamplayers’ EP as well featuring the tracks we wrote with tayo, Icey, Drumattic Twins and the Autobots. And if that is not enuff… we have just received a box of Sonix 14. This was a d&b release we did back in 2004 alongside Xample and Sol (signed to Andy C’s Frequency label). Tracks are Aquasky ‘Right Here’ and X&S ‘Underworld’. Both got a good battering on the worlds d&b floors. Thanks to all of you who showed out for the Breakspoll live dates we did. Apologies for the terrible sound at the Fabric gig. We couldn’t hear anything up on stage and from what we have been told the dancefloor sounded like a wall of noise. Well gutted about that as we put a lot of time into it all and it is typical, the only thing you have no control over is what fails you on the night… anyway, that made us more determined to put on a corker of a show at the SE1 Aftershow party and that is exactly what we did and we tore the roof off. Thanks to all of you for your support and making us feel loved that night. There are no more plans to do any liveshows but if time permits and the interest is there I think we may expand upon it some more. Future dates will be cut between sequenced dance tracks for those who want a boogie and rock vibes for those who like to see a real energetic stageshow (last weeks shows were all 100% live and we set out for it to be a straight up rock metal rinse out just to prove we could and to do metal cover versions of our tracks was quite fun as well). So what else is up? Well we have just uploaded a new radioshow that myself and Dave did this week showcasing a slightly more electro-clash sound of breakbeat which is what we are feeling at the moment. I think we may also do a Aquasky circa 2000-2003 in the coming weeks for those of you who like your music heavy and tough. There is also a little video up in the Dubs/Videos section that was made at a recent Knowledge mag party in Chamonix featuring our superstar DJ Dave Wallace. He went and blessed the showcap mountain massif with some specialness… Funny enough it was the same venue that we played at 9 years before when we went out in a d&b capacity. It was also the same venue that some bas**ard stole my camera. Grrr… Thanks to all of you who entered our remix competition. We should of picked the winner by now but we ended up with many more submissions than we expected and to do all of you justice we have decided to pick a winner in the next few weeks so we can hear each tune fully and grade it respectfully. We know you spent a lot of time doing these remixes and we owe it to you to choose wisely. As soon as we have choosen we will put a bulletin up on the front page of our site. This week we have finished a remix for Atomic Hooligan and are really happy with the end result. You can hear it if you check the recent radioshow up on this site. We have also decided to step away from the studio for the rest of the year. After so much time and effort being put into Teamplayers and being that we have put out more breakbeat releases than anyone else has over the years we think it is time for a rest and to concentrate our time on pushing our Passenger and 777 labels, DJing, remixing and producing other acts. The plan at this stage is for us to come back with a kick ass 12” for the start of 2007 and let the other folks in the scene run the gauntlet for 2006. But be ready for our return, cause when we do it will be some heavy, heavy vibes!!! Next up on the labels we have: PASSENGER 25 – May 1st 2006 A: Aquasky and Spyda ‘Time Up’ (mixed down by the d&b demon Tech Itch) AA: Aquasky and Backdraft feat Spyda ‘What Can You Do?’ PASSENGER 25R – May 1st 2006 A: Aquasky and Spyda ‘Time Up’ – Drumsound and Simon Bassline Smith Remix AA: Aquasky and The Drumattic Twins ‘Bring It On Down’ – Rennie Pilgrim HUM Mix PASSENGER 26 – May 29th 2006 A: Rob Le Pitch ‘Twisted’ AA: Rob Le Pitch ‘Twisted’ – Rogue Element and Tom Real Remix PASSENGER 27 – June 26th 2006 A: The Breakfastaz ‘The Pressure’ – Aquasky Remix AA: The Breakfastaz ‘The Pressure’ – Drumsound and Simon Bassline Smith Remix PASSENGER 28 – July 17th 2006 Backdraft (tracks TBC) SVN010 (777) – April 17th 2006 A: Jim Shimmer ‘The Escape’ AA: Jim Shimmer ‘Space Races’ SVN011 (777) – May 22nd 2006 A: Aquasky ‘Red Out’ – JDS Remix AA: Aquasky ‘Addiction’ – Chris Carter Remix SVN012 (777) – June 19th 2006 A: Sprayhead ‘You Rock’ AA: Sprayhead ‘You Rock – Remix (artist TBC) So there you go folks… the latest from this camp. Remember to keep coming back to see what we are up to and get ya fix of free breakbeat mixes in the download section and exclusive promos in our shop. Bigups and keep the beats bangin!!!
